Background:
Cumran Primary School was opened in May 2005 to replace and amalgamate Clough and Downshire (Dundrum) Primary Schools. It is situated in Clough village, the school enjoys a quiet and rural positions overlooking the Mourne Mountains and Dromara Hills. The school builds on the good practice of Clough and Downshire Schools. The accommodation is excellent, purpose-built, providing bright and spacious classrooms, equipped to a high standard for each year group. A multi-purpose hall is used for assemblies, school productions, physical education, sport and meetings. The school and community to promote sport and the physical education curriculum use its outdoor multi-purpose games area. The school clubs includes Youth Sport Activities, school choir, football, netball club, aerobics and scripture union. The school aims to provide opportunities to all to learn and share together, to realise their full potential in a positive learning environment.
